A triangulated approach has been developed and tested by Uptime Global, which screens rural water services and data systems and makes it challenging to falsify reported performance. The methodology entails the routine substantiation of ongoing data submissions against historical records, as well as the verification of a representative sample of waterpoints through site visits and data audits. In the context of the Safe Pani program in Bangladesh, this document delineates the application of the verification procedure.
All verification activities consider the following metrics which factor into calculation of results-based payments, with individual tub wells, rainwater harvesting systems, reverse osmosis systems, and piped scheme.
